I’ll be reading as part of In/Words magazine’s upcoming showcase event with fellow poets Selina Boan, Brandon Wint and PrufRock Shadowrunner, as well as musicians Suzy Pankhurst and synthtastic indie dance act The Fevers. It often seems like a bit of a pipe dream that poetry can exist anywhere outside of its own huddled communities, but if Rob Ford can be mayor maybe even pipe dreams can come true. I’m excited to share the stage with such a range of dynamic performers, and I intend to do a shuffling dance-like thing when The Fevers hit the stage.
September 13 at Pressed (750 Gladstone), kicks off at 7pm. Tickets are $10, $7 for Carleton students. Bring extra money for booze and possibly even my uber-rare chapbook A pack of lies ($15).
I was on Literary Landscape on CKCU with Matt Jones talking about the event last night if you’re interested in hearing me talk too much too fast. We also each read poems. Listen here.
Also have a little poem in this mag from rob mclennan’s above/ground press.
